 I have ESX 3.5i running on this motherboard. Both NICs and all the sata ports work out of the box. I wasn\'t able to install from a CD onto the sata drives -- the installer claimed there was nowhere to install to -- but once I hooked up a USB drive that had ESXi installed, everything worked with no issues. (Asus P5BV-M, Intell Q8200, 8GB ECC RAM)

 Good morning DinkMeeker,

I have the same issue with vmware 3.5i when trying to install it on a P5BV-M motherboard. is it possible to let me know how you perfromed the installation using the USB key or maybe to upload the usb image that you have used.

 To install VMware ESX 3.5i on an ASUS P5BV-M motherbboard, make sure that the IDE bios advenced settings is set to different value than IDE even if only SATA drivers are connected. Create your volume on LSI RAID configuration reboot and boot the ESX setup from cd-rom. less than 15 min and it\'s done.
no USB needed! Enjoy!
