Storage on Gigabyte UD3R

I bought a motherboard (Gigabyte EX58-UD3R) based on it\'s positive listing on this forum. http://ultimatewhitebox.com/motherboard/164 ESXi 3.5.0 still reports that it is unable to find compatible storage when I try to install it. I have set to \'AHCI\' mode in the BIOS but still no joy. CPU is Intel i7 quad core. 6gb ddr3 ram. A single 1tb sata2 drive plugged into sata slot 0 I\'m really hoping the problem is me. Please can someone advise? Phil |

Have a similiar problem. I get to the part where vsphere expects to see a disk however it does not see my VelociRaptor 300GB WD3000HLFS. Ive been told vsphere & its ilk are based on redhat kernel but locating third party drive to use during inititial install with no luck. If I cannot get it working as is I would need to think about buying a support controller but this seems wasteful as my Mobo (GigaByte EX58-UD3R) already has one. I will be trying to see what types of options are possible before doing that. | |
