ESXi 4 installation (with U1, I believe). Makes it to the "Starting vmkernel initialization" screen (after loading all the vgz\'s and tgz\'s, like image.tgz) - and then immediately reboots the machine. Have tried various boot options like noACPI and nocheckCPUIDLimit - all with same result. Attempted booting to ESXi 3.5 update 2 installation CD - errors out with "no available memory under 4GB" - have not tried boot options with 3.5 System hardware: Studio 15 (1558) 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM Intel i3-330m CPU 500GB 7200RPM SATA HD SATA controller - not sure, I believe intel 82801HBM/HEM - it does have an eSATA port on this unit Integrated NIC - I think Intel? But still - not sure. Next step will be to try booting to USB-stick - if anybody else has experience with this machine and ESXi 4 (or even 3.5) please let me know. Thanks, Tommy Nott |

I get the same symptoms on an Inspiron 1564  Anyone have any ideas? |
