VMware ESXi 4.1 Compitable Hardware Lists

Hi, When I attempted to upgrade my GA-EX58-UD3R VMware ESXi 4.1 server to 4.1, the upgrade failed. I attempted a new full install, but once again it failed. Have many people been upgrading to VMware ESXi 4.1 ? If so I would like to know your experiences and what (low level) hardware works. I have not found any reports on this great Whitebox site for 4.1, it sure helped me with 4.0 hardware, so if all goes well, I hope to add any information about success with 4.1. I have found the ESXi 4.0 server a great test the ESXi environment to become familiar with ESXi. I am hoping to upgrade to ESXi 4.1 so I can run 60 day evaluations of ESX as virtual machines for VMotion testing (would anyone have tried this before? If so let me know if you were successful and with what hardware, please). At this time I will be using VMware Workstation 7.1 for the ESX testing, when is going well, but ESXi 4 gives better performance, being a bare metal hypervisor. |
