My whitebox

Just wanted to post my whitebox specs. Everything is working like a champ and VMDKs on the SSDs are amazingly fast. I went with a socket 775 mobo because I had the chip already and didn\'t want to spend money on a new one when the old one was running really well.

Gigabyte GA-P43T-ES3G http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128467
16 gig of DDR3 (4x4) G.Skill RipJaw series http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231313&cm_re=ddr3_ram-_-20-231-313-_-Product
3 Seagate 2TB drives
3 Seagate 1TB drives
1 Seagate 500GB drive
2 ADATA 128GB SSDs http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211471&cm_re=ADATA_SSD-_-20-211-471-_-Product
1 Intel quad port GIGE adapter http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833106065&cm_re=Intel_quad_por-_-33-106-065-_-Product (was a freebie from a friend)
1 Intel singe port GIGE adapter http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833106033
1 Kingwin Dual 2.5 SATA rack http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817990011&cm_re=kingwin_sata-_-17-990-011-_-Product
1 SIL 3114 based PCI 4 port SATA adapter (mobo only has 6 ports)
7 Kingwin 3.5 trayless racks (bought at microcenter)
1 4U enclosure
1 Thermaltake 500W power supply
some cheap PCI video card I found somewhere

The large seagate drives are setup as raw access to a file server VM, so they aren\'t used to store VMDKs at all. Most of my VMs are on the 500GB drive, but Im moving them over to the SSDs and they absolutely scream once they are over there.
