Folks I am a newbie to this site. Excuse me if I ask something out of context. I need to get my vcp4. I have a DL 380 G3, No good for the 4.0 version. I have been pricing out building a unit from parts available from Micro-Center. I anticipate about 1200 - 1500 worth of CPU, MB, Mem and sata drives. I don\'t want to build a gaming machine, I am not a game player. I am actually a SAN engineer. I want to build a machine to run W2008 Hyper and then run ESI as a guest along with VC 4.0. The machine will need some hutsba... to say the least. I can get a DL 380 G5 with mem and the 3.0 GZ Zeons for about 1100.00. I need to get the Sata drives for it. So I am looking at 1500.00 as well. The question, Build or Buy. Will he build outperform the buy? Thanks in advance Any recommendation on build h/w is greatly appreciated. |
