| Running with Phenom II X4 940BE (AM2+) Onboard SATA does NOT work with ESXi 3.5 U4. Neither in SATA-Mode, nor in IDE-Mode. I am booting from a USB-Stick connected to onboard-USB. Onboard-LAN not tested. Onboard-GPU capable of showing ESX console no problem. IMPORTANT: do NOT enable C1E in BIOS. I had to press a key on the ESX console every few seconds to wake up the system, otherwise it would just get stuck. Plus the screen was flickering like hell. Without C1E the system boots up without problems. Runs fine with 16GB RAM. I did not modify oem.tgz |
